Serie 1 "828.AC" (1973/75) Beta Coupé 1800 S1 - 1756cc / 120CV - "828.AC1" Beta Coupé 1600 S1 - 1592cc / 108CV - "828.AC0"
First announced during June '73 then showed at the Frankfurt Expo september '73 : on sale from the 2nd of march '74 only due to the Kippur war energetic crisis . The S1 models had flat bonnet and yellow instruments and the 1800 Coupé was standard equipped with FPS or Cromodora 14" alloy wheels. The S1 was developed also for the world rally championship as substitute of the old Fulvia HF with the 1800 HF Coupé Group 4 - ALITALIA Team model : 1756 cc. - 16 valves 190 bhp at 7700 rpm 2 twin-choke Dell'Orto 48 carbs. Power steering Weight = 904 kg. But in the meantime the Strato's HF project didnt help the Beta success.. The Zagato Beta Coupè Competizione was shown at the Turin Motor Show in 1974. It was lightweight: plastic panels for bonnet, bootlid, doors rear and front wings were made in plastic reiforced by glassfibre. Used by Zagato Family but never sold to the public. Interiors were common with the following Serie 2 edition .
Serie 2 "828.BC" (1975/78) Beta Coupé 2000 S2 - 1995cc / 119CV - "828.BC1" Beta Coupé 1600 S2 - 1585cc / 100CV - "828.BC0" Coupé 1300 S2 - 1297cc / 82CV - "828.BC3"
The S2 2000 Coupé introduced the raised bonnet with black air grids and also the octagonal glass over the double front lights and the new design of the main front grid with five horizontal stainless steel bars . The S2 1600 frontal design remained similar to the S1's one . The S2 1300 was presented in 1976 simply as Lancia Coupè 1300 (as natural substitute of the Fulvia Coupé 3) and became Lancia Beta Coupè 1300 in June 1978 with the S3 presentation. The S2 1300 frontal was also different and simpler and both 1600 and 1300 had the double front separated front lights without the octagonal cover . The S2 1300 was introduced in the 1976 after the end of the Fulvia coupe 3 manufacturing .

With the S3 2000 Coupé the octagonal glass disappeared and the 5 stainless steel bars were applied also to the 1300 and 1600 models . The special Beta Coupè Hi Fi version was a limited edition cosmetically treated by Tickford company. Produced in 1979 in 300 pieces and only sold in UK. Painted in special metallic colors with gold stripes on the sides. Front and rear spoiler, 185/65 tires Pirelli P6. The HI FI name was due to the special sound system made by Voxon the car was fitted with. Tickford Company, where the HI FI received the cosmetic treatment, was Aston Martin coach builder. The Beta Coupè Laser was the other special serie 3 produced in 1980 in 2000 pieces. Powered by 1300cc and 1600cc engine. Painted in red, dark metallic grey or light metallic blue all with narrow black stripes on the sides. 1300cc were fitted with 175/70 tires and FPS alloy wheels. 1600cc were fitted with 185/65 tires (P6) and Speedline alloy wheels. Bumpers, grille and metal stripes-frames were in black. The Beta Coupè Zagato1 was seen the first time at the Turin Motor Show in 1980. It was named Beta Coupè HF Z. It was painted in black metallic. The mechanical was 2000cc. carb. The Coupè 1300 in June 1978 with the S3 presentation became Beta Coupé 1300 .
Serie 4 "828.BC.FL2" (1981/84) Beta Coupé 2000 IE S4 - 1995cc / 122CV - "828.BC1.FL2" Beta Coupé 1600 S4 - 1585cc / 100CV - "828.BC0.FL2" Beta Coupé 1300 S4 - 1366cc / 84CV - "828.BC3.FL2" All the S4 version had the new stainless steel main front grid and bigger inox bumpers (except for the 1300) . The S4 2000 VX Coupé version was equipped with one Root Compressor which gave 135CV to this very fast last edition model . All the S4 version had the new stainless steel main front grid . The Beta Coupè Zagato2 was a second version of the HF Z upgraded with the S4 front grille. It was painted in two tone metallic black and grey. The Beta Coupè Martini was painted in white with narrow blue, red and black stripes. The bonnet had a bulge but the mechanical was not VX. The Beta Coupè Fissore 2000 was produced in 200 pieces only . |
