Buon giorno:

Does anybody recommend Koni shocks for the grale? - I have heard various 'negative' reports regarding their use in standard form (not revalved) on the 'grale, but still consider they might be worth a try... I am also considering 'Sachs', are these any good?, do they last? I am running lowered Eibach springs, and fully intend a geom. check after fitment of the new shox All comments regarding this would be welcome (As would explanations for why my ABS light will flash on/off on bumpy roads, but it does not lie, when it is on they really don't work, and when off, they definitely DO work! - could dodgy wheelbearing or sensor cause prob?) Ciao

In April 98 I bought a 1992 Delta Evo 16v from a very reputable specialist in these cars for 14,000 pounds. He informed me that the car had been stolen and recovered with the front seats, dash and bonnet missing and he promised to buy the car back off me when I wanted to sell it. He did not inform me that the car had been written-off by the insurance company, so when I tried to part-ex it for a new car an HPI check revealed this fact. The dealer reduced his offer for my car to 5000 pounds and then even refused to take it. When I approached the dealer I bought the car from he withdrew his offer to buy the car back. The car is now in a "condition Inspected" status on the HPI register. I wish to claim compensation from the car dealer because of the misrepresentation of the facts relating to the history of the car. So if anyone has any legal tips or advice they could give me it would be much appreciated. (Club Member)

Keith Drew - new Lancias ARE available in the UK, it's just that you have to go to Europe and bring back your own LHD car. It is no problem driving LHD in the UK (I do 25K miles/annum in mine) and the cars are so much cheaper that way - for example a new Ypsilon on the road, UK taxes paid for less than £6K. Do you really think Fiat/Lancia UK would sell them THAT cheap?

What a great site, needs more on the beta though. The guestbook is fascinating and informative.I've had Lancias since I was Eighteen and I have never been without one at any one time, even though sometimes they were not running. However, the Castlemaine Rally is coming up soon and I still have to get my current 84 HPE (Aussie spec, no fuel injection, but carburettored)back from the panel shop. It's doors and bonnet were "keyed" by some vandal. While it is at the panel shop, they found that the inner door skins were rotten and so they are rebuilding them. However, time is running out and I need the car as I have to take the engine out and do a rebuild and new CV joints before I go to the rally. It will probably have to be done the day and night before the rally, but it will get done. If I can't rebuild in time, I just picked up a FL1 hpe for AUS$100.00 and it has a complete and healthy engine that i will just throw into the car for the weekend. If anyone wants to chat via email about lancias in general or betas in particular, feel free to drop me a line sometime, it would be most welcome.

Some time ago now I had a Bob Brain Developments engine implanted into my HF4WD. The car was sort of sold to someone but I eventually bought it back as it just so damn fast!! Once I bought it back to my home it posed me with a problem - garage space. So the simplest answer was to turn the double garage into.......... a quadruple garage!! (Slap forehead and say oh my god!!) My Lancias are all loved equally, my 81 Beta coupe is coming back from its new paint job in early October and the mad Delta going to be raced, by me!!! - this should be fun as I need somewhere 'legal' where I can open her up properly without any unwanted interest. Sadly I had to sell my Black 16v Grale a car which I loved (and spent loads on putting it back to standard spec.) Why sell such a car?? An Evo II Catalyst thats why, oh yes - I turned into a salavating fool when I saw one close up and then just had to have one. I sourced and collected mine from Milan - and was perfect in every way - especially as it saved me a bus load of cash by buying from outside UK. Oh yeah,... I'm still getting that Cheesey Grin when driving!!!

By accident I have found a parts catalogue from Gold Components Ltd, Motor Factors in Urmston, Manchester, England. They appear to sell Drive Shafts, C.V. Joints, Boot Kits, C.V. Joint Nuts and other bits and pieces - new and remanufactured.Their catalogue includes Lancia Beta, Delta, Fulvia, Gamma, Prisma, Thema, Trevi and Y10 models, as well as Fiat and Alfa parts. I have no idea if they are just a trade supplier or not, but I thought that anyone supplying parts for the best cars in the world might be of interest. They can be contacted on (UK) 0161 747 7027/7047, Fax: 0161 747 7071 or e-mail - dl@goldcomponents.demon.co.uk.

To all North-American Zagato owners: I own a silver 1981 US-spec Zagato. It runs superbly and has recently reached the 100,000 miles mark. Currently it is being resprayed. Unfortunately US-version parts are unavailable in Europe. I am looking for the 2 emblems on the trunk, that read @Lancia' and @Zagato'. Mine are illegible. Also looking for the drivers seat belt unit, that has an electric sensor, which connects to the @Fasten Seat Belts'-warning light. Any of you who has these parts and wants to part with them? Thanks!

Salve a tutti LANCISTI! I am slowly restoring an Aurelia B10 (1950), slowly because the situation for spares seems more or less catastrophic. For the glorious B20 there are a few parts to find but for B10 ---!!? Can anyone give me some hope for pistons/cylinder liners (bore 70 mm) or for newly made floor panels at a reasonable price? I would surely like to drive this very advanced (for 1950 and for, say, up to 1990)automobile on the road! Or, if you have something else about the B10, parts or comments or memories...drop me a mail or call! Bo Hellstrom (Phone +46-8 54 064 316)

Good site. Can anybody out there tell me what do we do when we can't get 4-star? There must be somebody with the answer! I am on my second Lancia, the first being a Delta, I now own a 1986 3.0 V6 Thema that I bought for buttons and which is brilliant apart from a few ropey electrics. I could do with laying my hands on the folllowing parts - a nearside headlight (to replace the cracked one), an offside headlight wiper and a nearside spoiler foglight (to replace the one that got smashed when I went off the road avoiding a sheep in Northumberland!) Thanks

I've owned a 1979 Black Zagato for the past 5 years. I'm thinking of purchasing a Montecarlo (1977). When I was a kid my father had a Lancia, not sure of the model and since we share names I've always wanted to own and drive one.

I was one of the drivers in the privately owned but factory entered Fulvia's in the Daytona and Sebring Endurance races in the early 1970's. What a wonderful car they were to drive, with speed unmatched for their displacement. I Just wanted to comment on this great website, it is nice to see they are still out there. I have very little information of my racing days in the Fulvia's, but if it is on interest to anyone I could pass it along.

TO HUIB...I'm afraid the bank manager wasn't so understanding after all...!! To EVERYONE...I believe "HF" stands for High Fidelty, a club created in the early days for all those who bought at least five NEW Lancias. The elephants symbolise the fidelity to the marque (they sometimes walk holding the tail of another member of the group with thir nose and so on... The colours blue and yellow are the colours of the town of TURIN (home of the Lancia factory) and you can find them on a strip along the bonnett of some HF's. I hope this is correct and that I have been of help to all the other Lancisti. VIVA LANCIA. Cheers all. FILIPPO

Buon giorno a tutti, Im am Lancia Aprilia vettura 38L-8960, born early in 1939 and delivered to Stockholm in Sweden. My 1st owner took me out the 15th of April in 1939. When the hostillities broke out I was considered to be to delicate for active service, so I was put in storage. After the war i got a female owner in Linkoping. Then i had some short-time owners but in 1950 a blacksmith fell i love with me and I was with him for 5 years. As a blacksmith he treated me in the only way he knew - with fire and and a heavy hammer. After these hard years I just wondered how my future would be. Again a row of short-time owners and then I had the great luck to be discovered by a real enthusiast, who saved my life. Lennart Haajanen was his name. I was really flattered to be stablemate to a Bugatti 35C, which made me fell young again and hope for a new youth. That was in 1958. LH had great faith in me as he used me as his honeymoon chariot to France and even to the Bugatti-factory in Molsheim, so I think I brought home some vital parts to my noble stablemate. However LH was very busy with the life in general. In 1976 he found a new owner for me. The new owner- Owe Persson - was a very romantic person, who thougt he could restore me to my former glory. As he vas´nt that practical it took 13 years to get me somewhat rejuvenated. I was back on the road in 1989. When I was born I was black, but OP changed my colour to light gry - I don´t know why - perhaps he was´nt so good in giving me the proper bodywork treatment that the black colour needs.

Greetings to all friends of Lancia: I think it is a wonderful thing that these fine cars can be kept on the road. I have a special fondness for Lancias as it was the car I learned to drive in some 20 yrs. ago, a B-24 Spider Aurelia, what a wonderful car! I myself owned a '61 (3rd. series) Appia convertable. All the Lancias are gone from our family now but the memory still lives on in my mind and heart. What a great web page, keep up the good work. Viva Lancia! Tim
