Serie 1 "828.AF" (1975) Beta Hpe 1800 S1 - 1756cc / 110CV - "828.AF1" Beta Hpe 1600 S1 - 1592cc / 100CV - "828.AF0"
First showed at the Geneve Expo march '75 : on sale from the spring of '75 . It was built overe the Beta Berlina chassis, and we call it as "LWB (long wheel base) Beta Sportiva" . S1 1.6 and 1.8 engines had less power than the Coupè's or Spider's ones , giving more touristic and less sportful characteristics to the Estate cars . The Campagnolo Alloy wheels were specific for Hpe only. All the S1 Hpe had octagonal glass covers in the front and this style was then dedicated to the Coupé and Spider 2000 S2 . The S1 models had flat bonnet and yellow instruments . Interiors were common with the following Serie 2 edition .
Serie 2 "828.FC" (1975/78) Beta Hpe 2000 S2 - 1995cc / 119CV - "828.BF1" Beta Hpe 1600 S2 - 1585cc / 100CV - "828.BF0"
The S2 2000 Hpe introduced the raised raised bonnet with black air grids and the new design of the main front grid with five horizontal stainless steel bars . The S2 1600 frontal design remained similar to the S1's one .
Serie 3 "828.BF.FL" (1978/81) Beta Hpe 2000 S3 - 1995cc / 115CV - "828.BF1.FL" Beta Hpe 1600 S3 - 1585cc / 100CV - "828.BF0.FL"
With the S3 2000 HPE the octagonal glass disappeared and the 5 stainless steel bars were applied also to the 1600 models .
Serie 4 "828.BF.FL2" (1981/84) H.P.Executive 2000 VX S4 - 1995cc / 135CV - "828.BF1/7" H.P.Executive 2000 IE S4 - 1995cc / 122CV - "828.BF1.FL2" H.P.Executive 1600 S4 - 1585cc / 100CV - "828.BF0.FL2" All the S4 version had the new stainless steel main front grid , bigger inox bumpers and the name Beta disappeared from them. S4 2000 VX : was equipped with one Root Compressor which gave 135CV to this very fast last edition model which had a special bonnet with the room for the compressore and special front and rear black spoilers. S4 2000 IE Hpe “N Group” : the French Lancia main dealer Reseau Chardonnet, in a promotional affair of the Lancia Beta HPE ie, rallied in the 1982 Monte Carlo Rally with two HPE, ending at the second and third place of Group N. , after the Alfa Romeo Alfasud Ti. . They were driven by Chomat (2nd) and Hamer (3rd). |
