BETA TECHNICAL INFORMATION |
|
The Lancia Beta cars were all front wheel drive with a transversally mounted engine, with the exception of the Beta Montecarlo/ Scorpion which had a rear wheel drive and a transversally mounted engine in the middle. The first cars had carburators, and later on, had fuel injection. In europe, the coupe and HPE were available with a Roots type supercharger made by Abarth, named Volumex (click here to see a volumex in action). In racing, some "Montecarlo" were fitted with single and twin turbochargers, while the Abarth Rallye 037 had a Volumex supercharger.
